Investing for Health (March 2002)
Northern Ireland’s public health strategy is laid out in ‘Investing in Health’. It contains a framework for action to improve health and well-being and reduce health inequalities which is based on partnership working amongst Departments, public bodies, local communities, voluntary bodies, District Councils and the social partners. A review of ‘Investing for Health’ is being done in 2009 and people interested in updates on Northern Ireland policy should visit the DHSSPSNI website.

Fit Futures: Focus on Food, Activity and Young People (December 2005)
Fit Futures: Focus on Food, Activity and Young People is a cross-departmental taskforce that was established by the Ministerial Group on Public Health in August 2004 in response to concerns about the rising levels of overweight and obesity in children and young people. The role of the taskforce was to examine options for preventing the rise in levels of overweight and obesity in children and young people and to make recommendations to the Ministerial Group on priorities for action.
