New antibiotic resistance mechanism in India, Pakistan, and the UK
An article published in The Lancet on 11 August 2010 reports the discovery of bacteria highly resistant to antibiotics in hospital patients in India, Pakistan and the UK. Many of the positive UK patients had travelled to India or Pakistan in the last year or had close links with those countries.
