Promoting mental wellbeing- emerging neuroscience evidence & practical application of a mindfulness-based approach



28 June 2012 (10am-4pm)
Venue: The Interchange, Old Colwyn Bay

The workshop will be led by Dr Sue Elliston

This session will cover:

  • An introduction to the theory of mindfulness as an approach to managing stress & promoting mental wellbeing
  • Latest research evidence including the neuroscience which underpins this approach
  • An opportunity to practice a range of ?techniques? (taken from ?mindfulness?, yoga & NLP) aimed at promoting wellbeing
  • An opportunity to reflect on their relevance both personally and in relation to the behaviour change public health agenda.


The event is relevant for:

All public health professionals / workers (for example, anyone whose role impacts the health and wellbeing of individuals / communities / populations)


How to apply:

  • The event is free to attend* (Failure to attend without 48 hours notice will result in an administration fee of £45 per delegate)
  • To reserve a place complete and return a registration form

  • Places are limited and will be allocated on a ?first come first served? basis

On receipt of registration forms individuals will be sent an email to confirm their place; joining instructions will also be provided
