CfWI roadshow

10 May London
One Queen Anne?s Gate, 13.00 - 15.30

A strategic review of the future healthcare workforce: informing medical and dental student intakes

What kind of healthcare will the English population need and expect in 2040? How many doctors and dentists will we need? How many students should be entering medical and dental training now?

These are challenging questions that we are asking now in order to make recommendations about future medical and dental student intakes, using scenario thinking techniques and system dynamic modelling to forecast demand and supply.

During May the CfWI will host a series of free events for stakeholders who have an interest in the future of medical and dental education to:

  • find out more about the scope of this project
  • hear about the scenarios and models and how they are being developed
  • contribute views on this work and inform thinking as it progresses.

Our confirmed speakers are

  • Professor Peter Kopelman in Leicester
  • Sir Graeme Catto in London
  • Professor Tony Weetman in Leeds.

These roadshows will be of particular interest to vice chancellors, deans and directors in medical and dental schools, higher education institutions that run healthcare undergraduate and postgraduate training, employers, members of the emerging local education and training boards, service commissioners, medical directors, strategic health authorities and postgraduate deaneries.

Space will be limited so early booking is recommended.
