This workshop on how to critically appraise and use research in practice will be led by Jonathan West (Principal Health Promotion Specialist, Public Health Wales)


This interactive session will provide an opportunity to:

? Explain critical appraisal of primary and secondary research (systematic reviews, meta-analyses and randomised control trials) and knowledge of the hierarchy of evidence
? Explore the assessment of evidence of effectiveness of services, programmes and interventions, which impact on health
? Consider, in part, the different research methods and their appropriate application for understanding public health issues


The event is relevant for:

All public health professionals/workers who would like a better understanding on how to interpret research to help ground their practice
