Understanding the NHS


Tuesday 8th November, Charing Cross Hotel, Central London

 

In light of recent policy announcements, there are substantial changes occurring across the health economy, which will have a major impact on everyone working with it.
In small groups of up to 25, delegates are taken though the structures of this complex organisation, acquiring an understanding of processes and rationale.

This unique and interactive day, devoid of any PowerPoint presentations and lengthy lectures, enable delegates to truly reflect on the system and their place within it. Extensive literature is provided as reference, including a full NHS glossary and NHS map.

Learning objectives
Understand, at a strategic level, how the NHS works, how the different organisations are structured and how they relate to each other. Understand the challenge of commissioning services. Understand the relationship across the health sector between the public, private and third sectors and between the NHS and the public. Understand the way in which organisations are governed. Understand how NHS structure relates to Central, Regional and Local Government Consider what the future might hold.
