Choose Life Impact Evaluation/Heat 5 Event

Stirling Management Centre, Stirling University

Impact Evaluation Event

In May 2010 Health Scotland commissioned an impact evaluation which was looking to assess the impact and effectiveness of the Choose Life training programme on behaviour and/or practice change, organisational attitudes and policies and systems within Scotland; what factors this is affected by; and to better understand to what extent this makes a difference to the way that people with thoughts of suicide are helped. This event will report back on the results of this evaluation and discuss how these results can be used to further the aims of Choose Life.

HEAT suicide prevention event

In December 2010 the HEAT H5 target ended. This target was aiming to ensure that Boards had trained 50% of their frontline staff in intervention skills by December 2010. All Boards met the target and a total of 52% of frontline staff in Scotland were trained. At this event we will examining the successes, the challenges and discuss the way forward to supporting Boards to support the HEAT target to 2013 of reducing the suicide rate by 20%.

Registration opens 3rd May 2011
