Speaker: Professor Bryan Stoten, Chair NHS Warwickshire/Former Chair NHS Confederation

The reforms set out in Liberating the NHS are arguably the most significant challenges facing the NHS since its inception with health and social care managers being one of the staff groups in the frontline of developments. The changes facing Public Health are considerable, with the need to ensure the focus on delivering changes in health services that improve the overall healthcare of the population.

Professor Bryan Stoten was appointed Chair of NHS Warwickshire in October 2006. Prior to taking up this appointment he had served as Chairman of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and was Chair of Warwickshire HA. He was described by the Health Service Journal as "one of the NHS' best trouble-shooters". He is a visiting Professor at Coventry University and a Fellow of the University of Warwick Business School. Bryan was National Chairman of the NHS Confederation from 2007 - 2010.
